मारणास्त्र

मैं
तैयार बैठा हूँ
मारणास्त्र को अभिमंत्रित किए हुए,
किसी भी क्षण
तुम पर चला सकता हूँ.


तुम भी
तैयार बैठे हो
मारणास्त्र को अभिमंत्रित किए हुए
किसी भी क्षण
मुझ पर चलाने के लिए.


मेरा निशाना
ठीक बैठ गया
तो तुम मारे जाओगे.
तुम्हारा निशाना
ठीक बैठ गया
तो मैं मारा जाऊँगा.


यह भी हो सकता है:
इस महाभारत में
हम दोनों ही मारे जाएँ.


या फिर
यह भी हो सकता है
कि हम दोनों ही बच जाएँ
और
हमारे मारणास्त्र
नष्ट हो जाएँ
परस्पर टकराकर
बीच आकाश में.

इन तमाम
अनिश्चित संभावनाओं के बीच
एक बात निश्चित है:


घृणा के विकिरण
जो निकलेंगे
इन मारणास्त्रों के प्रयोग से....


उनसे काँप-काँप जाएगी
हमारे घर की हवा...


उनसे जहर बन जाएगा
हमारे बच्चों का पीने का पानी...


उनसे दहकती बारूद में बदल जाएगी
हमारे पुरखों के लहू से जुती यह ज़मीन ...


उनसे कसैले नीले हरे धुएँ में
तब्दील हो जाएगी
हमारे अग्निहोत्र की पवित्र ज्वाला....


और उनसे जीवनभक्षी ब्लैकहोल
लपलपाने लगेंगे
अपनी खुरदरी जीभ
हमारे सपनों के नीले आकाश में......


क्या हम अपनी आत्मा पर ले लें
इतने सारे पाप
पंचतत्वों के विरुद्ध-
(केवल टकराते हुए
अपने-अपने अहं के लिए)? o


Catastrophic

I
am here ready to aim
with the weapon of mass-destruction
any moment it will strike you.

You
Too
are there ready to aim
with the weapon
any moment to strike.

If i could aim right
You will be nowhere in sight
and if you could
i shall be no more.

It is also possible
that in this war of nerves:The Mahabharat
Both of us perish.

Or both of us
escape unhurt.

and the weapons that
aimed at each one
strike in the mid -sky
and
Fall like a withered tree.

Out of all these uncertainties
One thing is certain
the hatred being born out of this conflict
and the radiation thus spread
will poison the environment
and the water our children might drink
will be just the sip of death.
the homely air shudder
at the very thought of it.

My native land-the land of of our forefathers
they tilled it with their blood and sweat
will trasform into flaming metal.
and the green trite smoke will
come out of our pious agnihotra.

The life-sucker blackholes
will be visible in the blue sky of our rainbow dreams .
Should we take all these sins on our souls
against all the firmament ?
( Only for the sake of our unquenched egos).
